Death of a Nonagenarian.
Early yesterday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Rachel McLaughlin at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Fessenden. Death was the result of old age, she having been gradually failing for about a month. The deceased celebrated her 99th birthday anniversary on the 2nd of last June.
The funeral takes place to-day with interment at Burr Oak.
We are promised an obituary of the deceased for our next issue.

MC LAUGHLIN.
Rachel McGarney was born in Westmoreland county, Penn., June 2, 1810. She was married to Joseph McLaughlin in 1831. In 1856 they moved to Freeport, Ill., and the following year moved to Burr Oak. Iowa. Eleven children were born to this union. Three children died in infancy, and two sons and one daughter since died. The surviving children are, William and Samuel of Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Robert Townsend and Mrs. Maggie Ervin of Burr Oak, Mrs. Anna Fessenden of Cresco. Mrs. McLaughlin departed this life Thursday, Aug. 12, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fessenden, lacking ten months of being 100 years old. Funeral services were held Friday in the M. E. church at Burr Oak, Rev. Densmore officiating, and burial was in the Burr Oak cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Burr Oak Cemetery shows she was born in 1808 which disagrees with the above year of birth.
