Mrs, Helgrim Larsen, whom death was mentioned last week and whose remains were laid at rest in the Lutheran Cemetery on the 18th, was born in Norway more than eighty-nine years ago. She and her husband came to Hesper in the summer of 1851, and lived a short time on the farm now owned by Fred Koppen but in part of the intervening time occupied by the families which gave to fame Prof E. W. D. Holway and Hamlin Garland. Soon after coming to Hesper the Larsens "filed” on Section 17. {illegible}, and for many years made their home on the N. W. quarter of that section, Mr. Larsen died some years ago, since which time Mrs. Larsen has made her home with her grandson. H. A. Goelberg, who purchased the farm of her, and with her daughter, Mrs. O. T. Langen, where she died. Mrs. Langen, who was born in the log cabin on Section nine in August, 1851, came to attend her mother’s funeral.
