Death came suddenly and swiftly to Mrs. Ed. Maher, living over the town line four miles west of Decorah, She was found, last Wednesday morning, lying face downwards on the floor of her room, and in a dying condition. She was helped to a couch, but before any medical assistance could be secured death ensued from heart failure. She was about 66 years old and had lived in Madison township half that period. Three children, her husband and a sister survive her.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Margaret who was born in 1839. She is buried in St. Benedict Cemetery.
