Saturday morning Grandpa Rud passed away after three years’ confinement to the bed. His death has long been expected. He was between 60 and 70 years of age and is going to be laid at rest to-day at noontime, at the Glenwood Pontopidant{sic} church cemetery. Rev. Fjelde, from Waukon, will conduct, both at home and at the church. One daughter and his wife passed away three years ago, leaving two sons and five daughters to mourn the loss of a dear father. Two of the daughters are married, one living in Boston and the other at Washington; so they were not present to see their father during his last hours.

Transcriber’s Note: Pontoppidan Cemetery shows this was Anders A. Rude born April 10, 1840 and died January 30, 1904.
