Gerald John “Jerry" Brincks was born on April 28, 1948 in Ossian, Iowa, the son of Anton and Mathilda (Kipp) Brincks. He died at Gundersen Medical Oncology Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the age of 71 years.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Shelter Area One – Phelps Park in Decorah, IA.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday beginning at 9:30 AM, one and one half hours before the service, at Phelps Park on Friday.
Following the Celebration of Life, we invite you to stay for a casual picnic in the park in celebration of Jerry's love of the outdoors.
Jerry owned his own refrigeration business and later worked for Iowa Rotocast Plastics, where he was the head of maintenance and safety. He also worked part-time for the Oneota Golf and Country Club (where he was a member) mowing and caring for the greens as well as working part-time at Toppling Goliath Brewery. He retired in 2013.
On May 25, 2001, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Pecinovsky. They made their home in Decorah, Iowa until his death. Jerry loved all sports, especially racquetball and golf; all outside activities and afternoons with his dear friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jeanne Pecinovsky; his son, Aaron (Tami) Brincks of Calmar, Iowa; his son, Mark (Deborah) Brincks and their daughter Rachel of Lake Forest, California; his son, Scott (Karen) Brincks and their children Kylie and Cole of Richmond, Virginia; his daughter, Sarah (Dennis) Kimiri and their children Donovan and Sierra of Mason City, Iowa; his brothers and sisters, Kathy Walz, Mary Ann Martin, Jim (Elaine) Brincks, Jeanne (Gerry) Tieskotter, Tony (Marilyn) Brincks, and Donnie (Joyce) Brincks; and a brother-in-law, Hank Best.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Mathilda (Kipp) Brincks; brothers and sisters, Virgil Brincks, Gerv Brincks, Betty Best, and Arlene Lansing; and brothers-in-law, Ron Walz, Harry Martin and Lawrence Lansing.
