Ridgeway, Dec. 28th.
The community was shocked last week to hear of the death of Mrs. Jake Jacobson, who died very unexpectedly. She was born Feb. 26, 1861, in Lincoln township, Winneshiek county, and has always lived here except for a short time they spent at Minot, N. D. She was married in early girlhood to Jake Jacobson, and has been to him a true, loving, faithful wife. Ten children were born to them, two of whom have also gone to the life beyond, Lillian, who died when six or seven, and the tiny baby, for whose life the mother’s was perhaps sacrificed. The funeral services will be held at the United Lutheran church on Wednesday, Rev. Hartman officiating. Eight children besides her husband are left to mourn her loss, all of whom were home except Beatrice, who came with her uncle Martin Jacobson from Minot, to be present at the funeral. The sympathy of the entire community go out to the bereaved ones in their sorrow.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Anna who is buried in United Lutheran Cemetery. She died December 23, 1904.
