Chas. Barker Dead.
After an illness covering several months Chas. Barker, son of Mrs. Jane E. Barker, died Tuesday morning at eleven o’clock. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the home (the Portman farm) south of town. Obituary next week.

OBITUARY.
Charles P. Barker was born in Dane county, Wis., Oct. 20, 1859, moved to Iowa with his parents in December, 1861, and has lived in this vicinity ever since. He was married to Mary Halvorson, March 12, 1890. Five children were born to them, one dying in infancy He leaves a wife, four children, a mother and one sister, besides aunts and uncles, to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at the house with a good attendance, fifty teams following the remains from his home. Rev Willett and Rev McVettie officiated. The deceased was of good moral character, honest and upright in his dealings with all, always generous and willing to help others as far as was in his power.
For the last few years luck has been against him and everything has seemed to go wrong. But all have been kind and helpful and have assisted him in a great many ways,
