Again we have to record the death of one whose life has been spent in this vicinity. The circumstances attending it are peculiarly sad. Only a few short months since she went out from the home a joyous, happy bride. Ivy C. Masters-Walters was born in Burr Oak township Sept, 26, 1883, and died in Canton, Minn., May 19, 1905, aged 21 years and six months. She lived with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Masters, at their farm home, until about six months since, when they moved to their present place of residence in Canton. Ivy was married to Mr. A. H. Walters shortly after buying the farm, and now the young husband; together with the father, mother, sisters and brothers, are left to mourn her early death. Her funeral was attended at the M. E. church in Burr Oak by a very large congregation of sympathising neighbors and friends, attesting by their presence the respect in which the family are held. Rev. Lee was the officiating clergyman, and he preached from the text "Jesus wept” his subject being sympathy, which he handled with scholarly tact.
