A Man Frozen to Death -LAST Sunday morning the remains of a man were found at the foot of a bluff in the neighborhood of Trout Run. Upon investigation it was proven to be the body of one Iver Knudsen Jonen, a Norwegian who lived near the head of the Run. He was a tinker by trade, a bachelor, and a man of very intemperate habits; he seldom, if ever, came into town without getting on a spree. Squire Morse held an inquest over the body on Monday morning, at which facts were elicited sufficient to cause the Jury to render the fallowing verdict:
STATE OF IOWA. Winneshiek County
An Inquisition, Holden at Trout Brook in Winneshiek County, on the 3d day of March, A D 1861, before Philip Morse, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county, upon the body of Iver Knudson Jonen, there lying dead, by the Jurors whose names are hereto subscribed. The said Jurors upon their oaths do say that they verily believe the deceased came to his death on or about the night of December 25th, 1860, by freezing in a state of intoxication. In testimony whereof the said Jurors have hereunto set their hands this 4th day of March, A D 1861J. H GURNEY, IRA BLOOMFIELD, DANIEL WHLEER.
