Sister Ignatia (Helen) Rosenbaum, OSF, died at 7:55 AM, Monday, November 12, 2018 at Clare House

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Francis Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 with Funeral Vigil at 7:00 p.m. in Francis Chapel.

Sister Ignatia was born July 31, 1928 in Ossian, IA, the daughter of John and Louisa (Bucheit) Rosenbaum. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis August 25, 1949 and made final profession of vows August 12, 1955. Sister received her high school education at St. Francis DeSales in Ossian, IA. She ministered as a homemaker at Briar Cliff College and St. Anthony's Home both in Sioux City, Iowa. In Dubuque, she ministered at Holy Trinity, Holy Ghost, Holy Family Hall, and Immaculate Conception Convent. She also ministered at Crescent City, California.

Sister is survived by her sisters Florence (Donald) Gapinski and Ione Hartley, nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared over 68 years of her life.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harold (LuVerne); her sister, Gertrude (Carl) Kuhn; and her brother-in-law, Art Hartley.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, IA.

Hoffman-Schneider Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
