Darlene M. Iverson, age 84, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday morning, October 12, 2018, her birthday, at home.

Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Big Canoe Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, with the Rev. Kurt Bockoven officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, one hour before the service, at Big Canoe Lutheran Church.

Darlene Marguerite (Muchow) Iverson was born on October 12, 1934 in Clermont, Iowa, the daughter of Hall and Mildred Marguerite (Thompson) Muchow. She attended Postville High School.

Darlene was united in marriage with Stanley Thomas Iverson on November 30, 1953 in Waterloo, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children: Greg, Diane, Deb and Kathy.

Darlene worked at Hinson Manufacturing in Waterloo, then at John Deere, as a welder. She retired in 1982. She and Stanley moved to Decorah after his retirement and he became the Master of Custodial Arts at Big Canoe Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, assisted by Darlene. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, P.T.A., and Priscilla Circle at Big Canoe Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hall and Mildred Muchow; her husband Stanley on October 8, 2016; her father- and mother-in-law, Theodore and Rose Iverson; her brother Eldon Muchow; son-in-law, Hank Snyder; daughter-in-law, Sheila Iverson; and great-grandson William Stanley Snyder.

Darlene is survived by her son Greg Iverson of Decorah; three daughters: Diane (Jeff) Turner of Decorah and Deb (Stan Fullerton) Snyder of Decorah, and Kathy (Bruce) Demsky of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Andy (Maggie) Iverson, Tore (Mike) Short, Nathan Iverson, Stephanie (Clay) Koenig, Matt (Lisa) Turner, Josh Snyder, Michael (Beth) Snyder, Lindsay Olson, Jake Demsky, Aron (Suzanna) Demsky, Justin (Heather) Demsky, Royce Fullerton, Lauren (Dan) Karr, and Alice (Juel Teslow) Fullerton; great-grandchildren: Anya Iverson, Klaara Short, Carli and Cael Koenig, Maddy, Kadin, Kash and Jack Turner, Kiah and Abel Snyder, Carter and Adelena Olson, Lorelei and Clementine Karr, Dalton and Dillon Briggs, and Lilah and Noah Demsky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Big Canoe Lutheran Church, 1381 Big Canoe Road, Decorah, IA 52101 or WMC Hospice, 901 Montgomery Street, Decorah, IA 52101.
