Cornelius H. Rothmeyer, 68, of Calmar, died suddenly at his home Feb.24.

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, with Father Robert Hirsch officiating. French Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Linus Rothmeyer, Larry Rothmeyer, Dean Rothmeyer, Neal Holthaus, Rodney Lensing and Tim Vondersitt.

Cornelius Rothmeyer was born Sept.24,1918, in Festina, the son of Frank and Catherine (Schuller) Rothmeyer. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. He was a truck driver for 27 years at Bucheit Produce and was employed in Festina and Calmar.

He married the former Marie Cremer Oct. 28, 1941, at Festina. She preceded him in death Jan. 21,1979.

Survivors include seven children, Gerald of Burnsville, Minn., Duane of Bloomington, Minn., Linda of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Lyle of Eagan, Minn. Joyce of Decorah, Kathy of Minneapolis, Minn., and Randy of Marion, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon of Calmar and Donald of Loves Park, Ill. and one sister, Rosemary Lommel of Modesto Calif.

Mr. Rothmeyer was a member of St. Aloysius Church and the American Legion.
