MERRILL.
Nancy Pulsiver Treat was born at Glastenburg, Conn., Dec. 19, 1829, and died at the family home three miles east of Sarotoga Nov. 5, 1902, being 72 years 10 months and 16 days old.
When a child her parents emigrated to Illinois, where she grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Quincy; removed to Allamakee county, Iowa, in 1852, and was married to George Merrill of Decorah, Iowa, Dec. 25, 1854.
To this union were born eight children, two girls and six boys, seven of whom with the husband survive her, one son having died in infancy.
Her early married life was spent in and about Decorah. In the spring of 1880 the family removed to Howard county, where she had since resided.
In early life she gave herself to her Savior and became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and has always felt a loving trust in the promises of her Savior.
