Services held for Roger Hubka
Memorial services for Roger Hubka of Rochester. MN were held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27 at First Unitarian Univeralist Church in Rochester with Rev. Dillman Baker Sorrels officiating. Interment will be private and is to be held at a later date in Bohemian National Cemetery, Protivin. Vine Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Roger, 62, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN of cancer.
Roger I. Hubka was born February 16, 1940 in Howard County, the son of Lewis and Clara (Pacovsky) Hubka. He graduated from Cresco High School. He started in the restaurant business in Davis Corners later joining Howard Johnson in Davenport, Council Bluffs and coming to Rochester in 1970 as manager of the North Howard Johnson restaurant. He became interested in antiques while in high school and started buying and selling antiques as a hobby.
When the restaurant closed he started participating in antique shows throughout the midwest.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents: one sister: Betty Hubka; and one brother: Lewis.
