Keith Ronald Mardock, 81, passed away peacefully March 2, 2018, in Decorah, where he had lived for the past 32 years. He was the pastor of Hesper Friends Meeting, Hesper, for 30 years before retiring in 2015. No memorial services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts honoring Keith may be sent to Camp Quaker Heights, 22605 V Ave., Eldora, IA 50627.
Keith was born in Wichita, Kan., July 27, 1936, to John and Ruth Mardock. He graduated from Wichita High School West and Friends University in Wichita and received a Master’s of Divinity from Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, Ind. He also pastored in Indiana and was a missionary in Kenya during his life of ministry. Keith was an avid woodworker and builder in his free time. He donated much of his time and talents to Camp Quaker Heights in Eldora, and served on the Board of Directors for many years. He also served on the Board of Trustees at William Penn University in Oskaloosa. In Decorah he was a member of the Decorah Chorale and the community theatre.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna White Mardock and children: Jayne Mardock Cabigas (Rick), of Tampa, Fla.; Kirk Mardock (Karen), of Elkridge, Md.; Vickie Grainger Bruening, of Decorah; and Michelle Grainger Steffen (Brian), of Des Moines, He had nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Mardock and Ruth Rash Mardock; sisters, Ruthanna Mardock Stowe, Marilyn Mardock Ireland Buckley; brother, Dr. John Franklin Mardock, Jr.; and niece, Linda Stowe Harder.
