Services held for Obed Lee, 87
Funeral services for Obed Lee were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3 at Orleans Lutheran Church in rural Ridgeway with Rev. Phillip Olson and Rev. Ginny Olson officiating. Interment was in Orleans Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Nathan Lee, Kevin Lee, Jason Lee, Andrew Olson, Rock Tuchek, and Dean Quandahl. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Obed, 87, died Friday, May 31, 2002 at the Regional Health Services of Howard County.
Obed Alexander Lee was born October 25, 1914 in Benton County near Walford, the son of Oliver and Thea (Lindanger-Johnson) Lee. He was baptized on November 15, 1914 and confirmed on December 30, 1928 at the Lutheran Church in Norway. Obed listed in the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1942 and was discharge in 1945.
On August 26, 1951 he married Sylvia Bentley. Obed farmed in the Norway area and also in the Ridgeway area.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia; two sons: Gary of Schaumburg, IL and David of Decatur, IL; three grandsons; one sister: June Tow of Walford; and one brother: Kenneth of Norway.
Obed was preceded in death by one son: Steven; his parents; and one brother: Oliver.
