Curtis A. Cornelius Jr. age, 58, of Mission, KS formerly of Decorah, IA. died Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home.

Celebration of life services will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home at 604 South Ave. in Decorah, IA. There will be visitation from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. there will be no other services.

Curtis is survived by his parents: Hubert and Mary (Hovden Cornelius) Teslow, Decorah,IA; Sisters: Keri Cornelius, Decorah, IA, Pam and Todd Schorzmann, Helena, AL, Dawn and Richard Mall, Long Beach, CA

Curtis A. Cornelius Jr. age, 58, of Mission, KS formerly of Decorah, IA. died Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home.

Curtis A. Cornelius Jr. was born August 10, 1959 in Decorah, IA to Curtis and Mary (Hovden) Cornelius. Curtis graduated from Decorah High School in 1978. He then attended NIACC in Mason City for two years and then joined the Air Force from 1980 to 1984 where he received his education in communications. He began to work for Sprint in San Mateo, CA and Atlanta, GA as an Engineer. Sprint then transferred Curt to Kansas City where he worked as a Senior Engineer. Curt enjoyed many things in his life. He loved to read, ride his Harley, he enjoyed skiing, boating, and hanging out with friends. He loved to cook and play with his dogs. (Harley, Striper and Harper) His plan was to restore the family truck after moving back to Decorah once retired. Curt loved his family more than anything. He had a special relationship with his Mom whom he adored.

Curtis is survived by his parents, Hubie and Mary Teslow, sisters Keri Cornelius of Decorah, Dawn and Richard Mall of Long Beach, CA and Pamela and Todd Schorzmann of Helena, AL. Curtis is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Curt was preceded in death by his Father, Curtis Adrian Cornelius Sr. In 1967. His paternal grandparents, Ole and Myrtle Cornelius. His maternal grandparents, Carman and Myrtle Hovden-Nordsving, Her husband Aldolf Nordsving. Uncles, Carmen Hovden, Art Cornelius, Dave Otteson, Donald Hovden, Donald Graves, John Regan, Don Teslow. Aunts, Donna Hovden, Audrey Hahn and Grandmas Ethel Mae Price and Sadie Teslow. Cousins, Jake Regan, KJ Hovden, Rene Engebertson and Connie Regan.
