Clara C. Grant, 87, dies in Texas
Clara C. Grant, 87, died Sunday, December 2, 2001 at Lifecare Hospital of North Texas in Dallas, TX. The Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A family burial service at the Kendallville-Eddy Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Clara Celecta Grant was born May 20, 1914 northeast of Cresco, the daughter of Everette and Lora (Culbert) Smith. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1932.
On January 29, 1934 she married Edward Grant in Canton, MN. They were later divorced.
Clara moved to Dallas, TX in the mid 1940s. She remained there until her death. She was a devoted mother of her handicapped son, David. She taught him to help her with her in-home sewing business.
She enjoyed writing religious poetry.
Clara was preceded in death by her son David in July 1995; her parents; and one brother: Albert.
