Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 20, 1991 at 11 a.m. at Calmar Lutheran Church, Calmar, The Rev. Timothy Wiggins officiated, with William Bravener as organist and Nancy Meyer as soloist. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Elliott W. Schroeder, son of Louis F. and Lena (Behrens) Schroeder, was born May 8, 1914 at Castalia, IA. He died March 16, 1991 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah, IA. He received his education at the Postville Schools, and was employed by the Postville Feed Mill and was the U.S.D.A. Inspector at Nor-Egg Inc. in Calmar, IA. He married Thelma Mosby on January 13, 1934 at Decorah, IA. They had two children, a son, Robert and a daughter, Patricia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Palmer, Lowell and Dale, and one grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma, a son, Robert of Beulah, NC; a daughter, Patricia Cayton of Wilton, IA: nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, June Palmquist and Ileta Tyler of Hot Springs Village, AK; two brothers, Norman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Merlin of Decorah.
Pallbearers were: Mark, Kevin, and James Cayton, Scott Lange, and Jay and Randy Schroeder.
