William “Bill” Casterton, 74, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at his home. A memorial service was Thursday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. The family received friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native of Winneshiek County, he was the son of the late Norman Leslie Casterton and Gena Josephine Rauk Casterton. Bill served proudly in the US Army from 1962-1965. After his military service he worked for many years with IBM as a machinist. Bill enjoyed working with his hands, especially tinkering on his El Camino. He was also a huge fan of Nascar.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Casterton; special niece, Cindy Adams (Robyn) of Charleston, S.C. and their children: Christopher of Benson, Maloree of Wilmington and Cullen of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Robert H. Casterton (Sylvia) of Readlyn and Charles D. Casterton (Mary) of Decorah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty HomeCare and Hospice Services, 105 Hunt Valley Dr. Dunn, NC 28334, in Bill’s memory. Condolences may be made to the family at bryan-leefuneralhome.com.
