Juliet Emma (Albertson) Marhoul was born on July 2, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Ella (Blomgren) Albertson at home in rural Winneshiek County, IA. She attended country school near Spillville through eighth grade. Julie moved to Waterloo and worked as a waitress. She was united in marriage to Milton Schnitzler on August 15, 1947 in Cresco, IA. Together they had four children: Janice, Larry, Gary and Edith. She worked at home on the farm and raised their children. When they were all in school, she started to work off the farm by driving school bus for a year, working at HECO in Harmony for a short time and working at DECO in Decorah for 27 years. Milton passed away in 1982. Julie remarried in 1985 to George Marhoul who had six children of his own and together they loved their new blended family. Julie had a love for music and dancing. She met Milton at a dance and they enjoyed dances throughout their lives together. When Julie was no longer able to kick-up her heels, she enjoyed listening to polka music. Julie loved to cook and bake and was very good at it. Everyone looked forward to getting a pail of her special cookies. She shared this legacy with her children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren by teaching and sharing her skills including a cookbook with all of her favorite recipes. The real passion of her life was her large family. She loved them all with her whole heart and everyone loved her right back. This relationship and memories will be cherished forever.
