Thomas Halverson passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Anton Hogenson, July 31, 1934 after a year's illness due to the infirmities of old age. Deceased was born March 25 1847 at Telemarken, Norway and came to America in 1852. December 28, 1881 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Garden and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are Halvor of Kidder, So. Dak., Mrs. Anton Hogenson of Calmar, Mrs. Herbert Tollefson, Ole Halverson, Gustav, all of Decorah. One sister, Mrs. H. Nelson, of Springfield township also survives.
His wife preceded him in death 12 years ago.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Calmar Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
