Cathrine Jones was born in Pennsylvania July 19, 1853. When about the age of 16, she with her parents move to Decorah, Ia., her family being among the first pioneer settlers. She was married to Thos. Gilmore in 1872. To this union ten children were born, three dying in infancy. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Florence at home, T. B. Gilmore, of Plankinton, S. D., Mrs. H. C Courtney of Decorah, la., Dave Gilmore, of Omaha, Neb., Mrs, T. Baker, of Cresco, Mrs. A. L. Jones and Mrs. F. R. Odendahl, of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three brothers, Martin Jones, of Cresco, Dave Jones, of Cass Lake, Minn , and P. J. Jones, of New York, N. Y. She was taken sick Oct. 16, 1914 and after nearly nine weeks of suffering with heart trouble she passed away Dec. 14, 1914. She was a loving wife and kind mother. Her love and self sacrifice for others leaves a loving memory for those left behind. The services were held at the Assumption Church conducted by Father T. J. Murtagh with interment in St. Bridget’s cemetery at Bluffton, Iowa.
