Ardis Virginia Dibble, 88 of Postville, Iowa died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Home in Postville. Ardis Virginia Dibble daughter of Chester R. and Edna (Roney) Green was born August 2, 1928 in Bloomfield township, Winneshiek County.
She attended Oak Hill rural School near her home and graduated from Postville High School. She taught rural school in Winneshiek County. On June 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Eugene “Jack” Dibble at the Episcopal Parsonage in Decorah, Iowa. The couple farmed the Dibble farm near Clermont until their retirement. They moved to Postville in 1982. After moving to Postville, Ardis was employed at the Good Samaritan Center for fifteen years.
Ardis was a member of WELCA at West Clermont Lutheran Church, a 4-H leader and a Sunday School teacher.
Ardis is survived by three children, Zoe Ann (Paul) Bankord of Morris, Minnesota, Leon (Marcia) Dibble of Postville and Jay (Ann) Dibble of Clermont; ten grandchildren, Michele, Brent, Crissy, Trista, Andrew, Taryn, Cindy, Angie, Chris and Aaron; twenty great-grandchildren, Rainy, John, Jayden, Kade, Wyatt, Hallie, Ellis, Carter, Kyle, Mara, Gloria, Andria, Tucker, Reid, Tenley, twins-Harris and Flynn, twins- Marshall and Matilda, and Putnam; sister-in-law, Joan Green Nelsen and brother-in-law, Deane Werger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Mark; her husband, Jack on December 28, 2013; a grandson, Travis Dibble; brothers, Roger and Glen Green and a sister, Marilyn Werger.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday July 6, 2017 at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Ron Roberts will officiate at the service.
Interment will be at God’s Acres Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa.
The Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation service, Postville, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
