Galen L. Floss was born Sept. 6, 1933, to Lester and Glora Floss, in Decorah.

Galen was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Decorah.

Galen passed away peacefully Dec. 24, 2016, at his home in San Marcos, Calif.

Galen was a life-long member of the VFW and American Legion. He served honorably in Korea during the Korean War. Galen earned four Bronze Stars. He loved God, his family and this country.

Galen leaves behind his wife, Betty; and their children – daughter, Gale Johnson and son, David; and one granddaughter, Judy Foss.

Galen was a wonderful, hard-working, honest man and is deeply missed and forever remembered and loved.

His remains are in Phelp’s cemetery, in Decorah.
