Catherine Phillips, age 76, of Decorah, IA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Burr Oak Lutheran Church in Burr Oak with Rev. Matt Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in Bluffton Cemetery.

Catherine Sue (Earl) Phillips was born on January 10, 1941, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Mumfort) Earl. She grew up in Brookport, IL, and also attended school there.

Catherine was united in marriage to Lyle Phillips on June 6, 2001 in Decorah IA, where they resided.

Catherine was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed by many. Catherine enjoyed many things in life, including hunting with Lyle, but the only rule she had was that you couldn't shoot Bambi. Catherine enjoyed time spent with family and also enjoyed her flowers. Catherine/Mom will always be on our mind and in our hearts. She left us all way too early and very unexpectedly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Earl; a brother Edward Earl; a sister Lois Klankey; and a granddaughter Andrea Bellmann.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Lyle Phillips of Decorah; daughters Belinda Wendell of Silvis, IL, Mary (Daniel) Jaeger of Cuba City, WI, Dawn (Joseph) Ruff of Dubuque, IA; son John (Colleen) Finger of Postville, IA; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Heater of Moline, IL; and by many nieces and nephews.
