Gary E. Graves, 66, of Belvidere, Ill., formerly of Decorah, passed away in his home April 7, 2017. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and there are no visitation or services. A private memorial may be held at a later date. To share a memory or condolences visit honquestfh.com.

He was born Oct. 21, 1950, to Leonard and Margaret (Peggy) Graves in Decorah. He loved spending time with family and friends, and will surely be missed. He also had a passion for “old cars” – talking about them, rebuilding them and driving them.

He is survived by his wife, Diane (Macal) and son, Trevor; daughter-in-law, April (Blodgett) and granddaughters Abby and Darien. He also is survived by brothers Leonard (Jane) Graves, Jr. and Frank (Patti) Graves; sisters: Marcia Carmack, Sylvia (Clair) Steine, Jane (Mark) Webb and Mary (Rob) Juve; father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Doris Macal; in-laws, Dave and Karen Macal, Donna Macal (Ernie Hahn), Darla (Wayne) Vokaty, Denise Macal (Fred Smith), Dorene (Frank) McCoy, Deb (John) Olsgard, Wes Spilde (a great friend, like a brother); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, parents and a brother, Darrell.
Just remember happy times; know he is at peace, without pain, and watching over us from above. He will be forever loved and remembered in our hearts.
