Charles “PACO” Wiest, age 62, of Fort Atkinson, IA died Tuesday, at his home in Fort Atkinson.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the St. John’s Catholic Church at 201 Oak St. Ft. Atkinson, IA Rev. Kyle Digmann presiding, burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery.

There will be visitation after 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday

Charles Richard “Paco” Wiest was born on March 29, 1954, the son of Arnold and Betty (Doubek) Wiest in Decorah, IA. Chuck attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1972. He was a Cub and Boy Scout. Chuck worked with his dad, Arnold doing carpentry. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, trap shooting and snowmobiling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and nieces and nephews. Chuck was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

Chuck is survived by one sister: Norma (Ted) Cahalan, Decorah, IA; brothers: Roger (Linda) Wiest, Fort Atkinson, IA; and James (Trish) Wiest, Yukon, OK. Nieces and nephews: Michael (Jenny) Wiest, Michele (Shalom) Avitan, and Matthew Cahalan. Great nieces and nephews: Shawn, Melanie, Steven, Emily, Sam, Maggie, Dalton, Kylie and Caiden. Aunts and uncles: Ann (Bill) Swisher, Waterloo, IA. Vera Wiest, Fort Atkinson, IA, Blanche (Ron) Jirak, Protivin, IA, and Robert Klimesh, Fort Atkinson, IA, as well as many cousins.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents: Arnold and Betty Wiest. One niece: Melissa Cahalan. His grandparents: William and Cecelia (Frana) Doubek and Henry and Agnes (Vorda) Wiest. Uncles and aunts: Clarence Wiest, Art (Ellen) Wiest, and Henry Wiest, Jr., and Elaine Klimesh.
