Rose Anna Nathem

OELWEIN — Rose Anna Nathem, 78, Oelwein, died Thursday, June 1 as the result of injuries she suffered in a car accident in Dover, MN.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Frederick C. Fangmann officiating. Family members placed the pall on the casket. Organist was Coila Huffman and Jack Trusty was vocalist. Hymn selections included "Be Not Afraid", "The Old Rugged Cross", "On Eagle’s Wings" and "Here I Am, Lord".

Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein with Gerald Einck, Tim Einck, Kenneth Einck, Robert Einck, Michael Einck and Marvin Schrandt as casket bearers.

Visitation was Friday, June 9 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.

Rose Anna Einck was born June 23, 1921 at Festina, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Huinker) Einck. She received her education from our Lady of Seven Dolors School in Festina. Rose married Loren Peter Nathem of the North Washington area on June 5, 1946 in Festina. The couple farmed near Janesville, Dunkerton and Maynard. They retired to Oelwein several years ago and had spent the past several winters at Donna, TX. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein.

Surviving are her husband, Loren Nathem, Oelwein; three brothers, Jerome Einck, Waucoma, Leander Einck, Calmar, Leo Einck, Waterloo; a sister, Lorraine Schrandt, Festina; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Edward Herbert and Leroy Einck; a sister, Helen Ott.
