FORT ATKINSON - Claudia Steffes (Mrs. Donald) Melberg, Sterling, IL, died Friday, April 14 from complications of cancer.
Services were held in Sterling on Monday, April 17.
A memorial service will be held at the Fort Atkinson American Legion Auxiliary meeting on Tuesday, May 9 at 7 p.m.
Claudia was a Gold Star Sister of the Huber-Steffes Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary in Fort Atkinson. She was a sister of Paul Steffes, who was killed during World War I {sic}. The Fort Atkinson post and unit were named after him and Albert Huber.
Transcriber's Note: Cemetery records show her brother Paul was killed during World War II.
