Marion L. Beatty, age 63, of Decorah, Iowa, died Monday evening, August 29, 2016 at his home in Decorah.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Decorah Lutheran Church with Rev. David Sorenson and Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Private Family Inurnment will be in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah.

A reception to greet the family will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 9 at Oneota Golf & Country Club, 1714 Golf Road, Decorah, IA.

Marion is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy; his son Ben Beatty (Arrilla) of Denver, CO, daughter Laura Newton (Sam) of Cottage Grove, MN, and son Jeff Beatty (Mallory) of Coralville, IA; his grandchildren, Jack, Mari, and Noel Newton and Miles Beatty; his brothers, Dr. Charles Beatty (Ann) of Rochester, MN and Brian Beatty (Robin) of Des Moines, IA; sister Annette Wingfield (Lance) of Northlake, TX; mother-in-law Mary Hall of Mankato, MN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Janet and Dennis Roseland of Palm Harbor, FL and Roger and Gayle Hall of Fleming Island, FL; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Marcella Beatty; his brother, Michael D. Beatty; his father-in-law, Galen Hall; his stepmother, Suzanne Beatty; and his uncles, Keith Beatty and Ron Beatty.
