Funeral services for Paul Lewis, a former Cresco and Riceville resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco with the Rev. Mark Vander Tulg officiating. Interment will be in New Oregon Cemetery in Cresco.
Paul of Mason City, died at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Mason City September 18, 2000 at the age of 83.
Paul was born July 15, 1917 in Winneshiek County the son of Tom and Frieda (Ratz) Lewis. He attended rural schools and worked on the farm.
On March 29, 1939 he married Evelyn Kack at New Hampton. They farmed first in the Cresco area and then moved to the Riceville and Mclntire areas before retiring and moving to Charles City. They moved to Mason City five years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Mason City; one daughter, Loretta Satem of Mason City; one son, Gary Lewis of Altoona; four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; one brother, Harold Lewis of Greene; and four sisters, Opal Dotzler and June Urness, both of Winona, MN, Mary Miller of Lanesboro, MN and Bernetta Cummings of LeRoy, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth Rink and two brothers, Raymond and Bill.
