Mrs. Julia Holmes, 81, of Decorah, died Tuesday evening at Smith Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include four cousins, Ole Nelson of Decorah, Mrs. Ella Hovden of Decoorah, Mrs. Georgia Hovden of San Diego, and Mrs. Bertha Yetterboe of San Francisco.

Mrs. Holmes was born in Decorah Oct. 7, 1879. She was married to Harry Holmes in May 1899 in Marion, Iowa.

Mr. Holmes precedes her in death. He worked for The Decorah Public Opinion for many years.

Mrs. Holmes lived her entire life in Decorah. Preceding her in death were her parents, Gust and Carrie Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Decorah Lutheran Church with the Rev. I.M. Gjellstad conducting the services. Steine Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.
