Services held for Ervin Ernst, 85
Funeral services for Ervin Ernst were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Gene Hermeier officiating. Interment was in Kendallville-Eddy Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Ervin 85, died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at his home.
Ervin Frederic Ernst was born July 2, 1918 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Charles and Helena (Bergan)Ernst. He moved to Winneshiek County with his family when he was two years old and lived his entire life there and graduated from Orleans Township schools. He helped on the family farm.
On January 23, 1940 he married Margaret Schultz. They farmed in Orleans and Fremont Township for many years. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by two daughter: Sharon Midthus of Denver and Judy Curtis of Cresco; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers: Hubert, Wallace, Wayne and Donald; and two sisters: Shirley Matt and Jeanette Anderson.
Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in June of 2003; his parents; and one brother: Arnold.
