Dorothy Wiemerslage, age 91, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Barthell Eastern Star in Decorah, IA.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 209 West Broadway, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Laura Arnold presiding. Burial will be in the Wheatland Cemetery, 2952 Wheatland Road, New Albin, Iowa.

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Friday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., on Saturday at the Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband: Les Wiemerslage, Decorah, IA. Two children: Bob (Sara) Wiemerslage, Shueyville, IA, and Jane Wiemerslage, Apple Valley, MN. Two grandsons: Clay (Lindsey) Wiemerslage and Ben (Molly Elliott) Wiemerslage. One sister: Lucille Halverson, Waukon, IA. Three sisters-in-law: Patsy Kerndt, Lansing, IA; Lou Kerndt, Omaha, NE, and Rosemary Kerndt, Mesa, AZ, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Clara (Marti) Kerndt. Three brothers: Warren Kerndt, Harold (Sharon) Kerndt and Donald “Donnie” Kerndt. One brother-in-law: Jack Halverson. Dorothy’s father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Anna (Gade) Wiemerslage. One sister-in-law: Helen (Harold) Franck.
