Calmar- Funeral services for Mrs. John Bruening, 71, who died Sunday at her home following a lingering illness, will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Aloysius' church. The Rev. A. S. Pelkert, pastor, will celebrate the requiem mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bruening was born in Calmar, July 21, 1873, as Anna Hemmer, the daughter of the late John and Mary Hemmer. On Oct. 19, 1897, she was married to John Bruening, and since their marriage they made their home on a farm south of Calmar.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Edward; one daughter, Margaret; two grandchildren, Donald and Dianne Bruening; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Zender, Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Zender, Cresco, Ia.
