Eileen G. Hanson, age 87 of McFarland, Wis., and lately of Monona, passed away at Meriter Health Center in Madison, Wis., Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006.

She was born in Decorah Jan. 27, 1918, the daughter of George and Genevieve (McKillippi) Rastetter.

She married Arnold K. Hanson June 25, 1938 in Decorah.

She was a farm girl at heart. She was a homemaker and lived a simple, quiet life. She spent most of her life in McFarland and loved her home on Lake Kegonsa. She was close to her family, and they were the center of her life. She spent her last years living with her sister Rosemary in Monona.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Wayne) Simpson; her grandchildren; great-grandson; a sister, Rosemary Kelley; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Arnold K. Hanson, in 1992; and a son, Thomas Hanson in 1993.

Funeral services are today (Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006) at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5306 Main Street, McFarland, Wis. Father John Meinholz is presiding.

Burial follows at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah, IA.
