Darlyne M. Rugland, 88, of Wayzata, Minn. and Kalispell, Mont., passed away March 24, 2015. A service is Friday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at Minnetonka Lutheran Church, 16023 Minnetonka Blvd. Minnetonka, Minn. Visitation is one hour prior to service. A second memorial service is this summer in Kalispell, Mont.

The youngest of nine children of Charles and Eliza (Rustad) Nelson, “Dolly” was born in Decorah and grew up in Nordness, where her father was a partner in the general store. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1945.

Dolly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to many in both Minnesota and Montana. She had a beautiful voice and was particularly fond of singing hymns and music of the ‘40s.

Memorials are preferred to Smith Valley Fire Department, Kalispell, Mont., Northridge Lutheran Church, Kalispell, Mont. or Luther College, Decorah.

She is survived by sons, Carl (Debra) Rugland and Mark (Diane) Rugland; son-in-law Christopher Sinn; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Alan and Paige; sister, Florence Lynch; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore (Ted); daughter, Rebecca Sinn; her parents; brother, Charles Nelson and sisters, Agnes Spilde, Evelyn Haugen, Clarice Gilbertson, Gladys Hicken, Beatrice Paulson and Marion Fritz.
