RITES HELD FOR ROSE S. DREIER

Rose Sophie Dreier, daughter of Theodore and Matilda Dreier, was born February 24, 1901 in Bloomfield township, Winneshiek county, and died suddenly at her home September 28, 1959. Having been in good health, the sudden death came as a shock to the family.

Miss Dreier was educated in the public schools of Winneshiek county and had lived on the home place with her brother and sister her entire life. She leaves to mourn her passing a brother and sister, Arno and Elma at home, and a brother Leo of Postville. Her parents and two brothers preceeded her in death.

Services were held Saturday at the home with the Rev. Curtis H. Webster officiating. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

It has been brought to my attention by Steve at the email address of SWBAREIS@aol.com that the death date of Rose should be October instead of September. In a book that the caretaker of the Postville Cemetery kept while he worked there, and it was for many many years, and that he donated to the Postville Library, he also says it should be October. Woodmansee says this too. I rechecked the newspaper obit and it says September. Two out of three should be correct.
