OBITUARY.

McGee.

Mary McGee second child of Wm. and Margaret McGee was born Dec. 26, 1868, on the old homestead in Albion twp. She attended the district school and also was a student at the Breckenridge Academy in Decorah. Later she taught school in Albion twp. For a number of years she was postmistress in Harmony and also a telephone operator in the central office at the same place. For the past fifteen years she has lived on the old home place where she helped make a home for her aged mother who is 84 years of age. About eight weeks ago she had an operation at Mercy hospital. She made satisfactory recovery and was supposed to be well on the way to restored health, when on Monday morning, July 21, she passed away unexpectedly. She is survived by her aged mother, four brothers and two sisters—William of Harmony, Owen and Mrs. E. Bateman of Cresco, Dennis and Katie at home, Dan of Winneshiek county. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Father Roche were held at St. Kieren’s{sp} church Wednesday, July 23, and burial was in the family lot near the church.
