Decorah- Herman T. Schwartzhoff, 71, died on Thanksgiving day at the Germann-Symonds farm in Highland township.
Funeral services will be held Monday at St. Benedict's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born Oct. 5, 1879, at Dorchester, Schwartzhoff was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Schwartzhoff. On April 21, 1904, he married Mary Danaher, who died in 1949.
His surviving children are Harold Schwartzhoff and Mrs. John Helming, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Harold Mooney, Harpers Ferry; Al Schwartzhoff, Chicago; John, on the farm; Gregory, Milwaukee; Mrs. Chester Baxter, Webster City; Cletus and Mark Schwartzhoff, Evanston, Ill.; also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Christian Schwartzhoff and Mrs. Clem Schulte, Dorchester, and Theodore, Caledonia, Minn.
With his son John, Schwartzhoff had been manager of the Garman-Symonds Holstein dairy farm for the past 10 years.
