DEAN JOSEPH BUCHEIT, 64, formerly of Ossian, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, in Los Angeles, Calif. Dean’s family was notified that he was struck by an automobile while crossing a street in downtown Los Angeles. Dean was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Decorah, to Quintin (Barney) and Marcelite (Hertges) Bucheit. He is survived by a son, Derek, of Silsbee, Texas; two sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Einck, of Rochester, Minn.; and Connie (Ron) Shimek, of Nora Springs; and a brother, Dale (Karen) Bucheit, of McGregor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quintin and Marcelite Bucheit; two brothers, Larry Bucheit and David Bucheit; two nephews, Brad and Brian Einck; and one niece, Brenda Einck. Arrangements are pending for burial at a later date.

Dean’s family was notified that Dean was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Marina del Rey area of Los Angeles. Dean was born February 7, 1951 to Quintin “Barney” and Marcelite (Hertges) Bucheit in Decorah, Iowa.

Dean is survived by a his son, Derek of Silsbee, Texas; two sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Einck of Rochester, Minnesota and Connie (Ron) Shimek of Nora Springs, Iowa and a brother Dale (Karen) of McGregor, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending for burial, at a later date.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4-7 pm at Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa.
Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa with Military Rites.
Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
