Decorah- John Banning, 85, died Sunday at West Union. The body was brought to Decorah, and funeral services were held in the Community Church in the Bluffton community with Rev. Floyd H. Weed officiating, and burial was in the Bluffton Cemetery.

He was born March 13, 1865, in Winneshiek County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Banning, early pioneers. He never married.

Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Fred Ohright of De__, Minn.
