Decorah- Funeral services were held Wednesday for Oscar S. Monson, 49, foreman of the commercial department of the Decorah Posten, who died Friday at the Decorah hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks.

The services were held in the First Lutheran church with the Rev. T. A. Hoff officiating. Burial was made in the Decorah Lutheran Cemetery.

Oscar Monson was born in Frankville township in 1893. When he was 9 years old his parents moved to Decorah which has since been his home. He entered the employment of the Decorah Posten when he was 15 years old as an apprentice.

His wife, whom he married in 1917, was formerly Minnie Ask. She survives, with one child, Dolores Yvonne. Two brothers and a sister, Melvin Monson of Chicago, Joseph Monson of Frankville township, and Mrs. A. R. Lee of Decorah, also survive. Mrs. Roy Berge (nee Ruth Monson) made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Monson since she was three years old.
