Young Fire Victim

Services were conducted at the Castalia Zion Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21 for Rodney Jay Schnuelle, six year old son of the Ray Schnuelles, who died in a fire that destroyed the family's farm home on the south edge of Castalia, Wednesday night, October 18. Death was attributed to smoke inhalation. The boy was asleep in a bedroom adjoining the kitchen, where the fire apparently started. The Rev. Arthur J. Tolo officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia.

Rodney Jay was born February 15, 1966, at Postville, the son of Raymond and Lois Wettleson Schnuelle. He was baptized June 5, 1966, at the Castalia Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Walter Pfeffer. Rodney was in the first grade.

He is survived by his parents, brothers Randy and Ricky and a sister Renee; maternal grandfather Robert Wettleson of Postville; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schnuelle, Castalia and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
