RUTH CATHERINE WATERS

Funeral rites were conducted for Ruth Catherine Waters, at the family residence in Decorah at three o'clock, Saturday, May 7. Miss Waters died at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah, Wednesday, May 4. The Rev. David Ash officiated.

Born February 5, 1905 in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, Ruth was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Waters. Her childhood was spent in the Postville and Waukon areas. She was a graduate of Cedar Falls high school and also the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls. She taught school at Fulton, Illinois for many years.

She was a resident of Postville from 1935 until 1952 when she moved to Waukon and lived until 1955 returning to Postville for ten years, then moving to Decorah.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Women's Society, Decorah; Frankville Study Club, Outlook Club, Decorah; Winneshiek County Historical Society; Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and interested in the Iowa Federation of Womens Clubs.

A sister, Geneva, of 622 Center St., Decorah, survives. Preceding her in death were her parents and infant sister.

Interment was in the Frankville Cemetery.
