Decorah- Milferd Sampson, 77, died Friday, June 27, 1997, on a farm in rural Winneshiek County due to a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, First Lutheran Church. Burial: St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Eldorado. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at French & Balik Funeral Home, Decorah, and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until services.

Survivors include his wife, Iva; a daughter, Karen Holthaus of Decorah; and a sister, Bernice Hilgerson of Postville.
