Decorah- Evelyn Hovden, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, in Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Madison Lutheran Church, rural Ridgeway. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at French & Balik Funeral Home, Decorah, where a Scripture service begins at 7:30 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Survivors include a daughter, LeiLani Hovden Demuth of Charleston, S.C.; and two sons, Gary of Ridgeway and Kevin of Burlington.
