Ossian- Loren G. Eide, 74, retired farmer, died early Thursday morning at his farm residence.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma; two daughters, Lois Reisner of Waterloo and Geraldine Bruns of St. Charles, Mo.; two sons, Dennis of Waverly and Darrell of Ossian; and 12 grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Stravanger Lutheran Church, south of Ossian. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Schmitz's and an hour before the service at the church.

Eide services held at Stavanger church. Funeral services for Loren Eide were conducted Saturday, Feb. 21, at Stavanger Lutheran Church, rural Ossian, with Rev. Jack Peterson officiating. Committal followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Cletus Birdsell, Irvin Fosaaen, Donald Huinker, Vernon Lofte, Clarence Winkler and Wayne Schwinefus. Schmitz Funeral Home, Ossian, had charge of arrangements. Loren Gerald Eide, 74, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 19, at his farm home southeast of Ossian. He was born the son of Gudmond S. and Laura Osmundson Eide on March 8, 1912. He was baptized and confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Church of which he was a lifetime member. He was a past trustee of the church. He received his education by attending the Military Township rural schools near his home and also the Ossian Public School. On Jan. 21, 1948, he was married to Thelma E. Johnson at the First Lutheran parsonage, West Union. They farmed all their married life on the family farm, being the third generation to do so. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Obert and Clair. Survivors include his wife, Thelma, rural Ossian; daughters, Lois, Mrs. Dwayne Reisner, Waterloo, and Geraldine, Mrs. Robert Bruns, St. Charles, MO; sons, Dennis Eide, Waverly, and Darrell Eide, Ossian; nine grandsons, Thad, Jeff, Trevor, Jared, Kevin, Brad, Jonathon, Christian and Adam, and three granddaughters, Erica, Tonia and Tiffany.
