Decorah- Emery L. Maschger, 82, died Tuesday in Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. He was Winneshiek County District Court bailiff for the past 14 years.

Surviving are his wife, Violet; a daughter, Betty Young of St. Louis, Mo. ; a stepson, Daniel Petersen of West Union; two brothers, Alfred of Louisville, Ill., Edward of St. Louis; four sisters, Betty Brinkman of Louisville, Ill., Linda Potts of Champaign, Ill., Lottie Hendricken of Atlanta, and Elva Chillman of Simi Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Sensor-French's, where friends may call after 2 p.m. today. Burial: 2 p.m. Saturday, Chapel Hill Garden, Elmhurst, Ill.
